Located within the Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort in Tuaran,this course complements this increasingly popular leisure & holiday destination. The Dalit Bay Golf & Country Club in Tuaran, about 35km North East of Kota Kinabalu, forms part of the luxurious & popular Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort.
Designed by E & G Parslow (M) Sdn Bhd, the 6,197metres with par-72 course sculptured from a former mangrove swamp, now offers a challenging round of golf for the experienced while social players can enjoy a less demanding game from the front tees. Accuracy off the tee is a premium on the generally tight fairways. One is immediately faced with difficulty from the 1st tee with a natural vegetation hazard plays along the left. The Bermuda Tidwarf greens with undulations & tiers make them really tricky. Elsewhere the course is covered with Greenless Park grass. Strategic bunkering, a large number of lakes & strong breezes could wreck havoc with distance & direction control, so full concentration is required for a good score here.
Dalit Bay's signature holes # 11 stretches 158m & plays to an easy Par 3. The challenging lies in teeing across the Tambalang river mouth to land your ball on a gentle contoured green flanked by bunkers on either side. The imposing sight of Mount Kinabalu in the background creates a unique game packed with risks & rewards to delight golfers.

With an extraordinary natural setting, this 18 holes course provides the ground for a round of challenging yet pleasant & relaxing golf. Located 35km from Kota Kinabalu, Karambunai Resorts Golf Club is part of a resort development spread over a massive site of 1,500 acres with a 5km private beach. Opened for play in September 1996, this Ronald Fream designed 18 holes course with Bermuda turfing throughout, make lies easy with generally wide fairways.
However, this 5,997 metres with Par-72 layout is certainly no pushover where mounds & undulations coupled with numerous strategically placed fairway bunkers & lakes require golfers to be on thier toes from tee or green. With the backdrop of a natural rainforest & the majestic Mount Kinabalu & 3 holes fronting the South China Sea, the well-landscaped layout provides a pleasant & relaxing atmosphere for both the single-handicappers who demand a challenging round of golf as well as a social game for the less serious players. the signature hole has to be the 3rd hole, 194metre with Par-3, where the sight of the large lake is enough to petrify even the sturdiest of golfers. The putting surface offers little comfort with its tricky undulations.

Right here in the heart of Kudat town lays the Kudat 18 holes Golf Course extending 128 acres of plain fairways with man made ponds of all sizes. It's the first new 9 holes were designed by a young local consultant & still immature course with 3005 metres in length with modern design concept, it lies along the costal of Marudu Bay. The scenery is beautiful & in the morning of a sunny day, the majestic Mount Kinabalu can be clearly seen from the new course. Not to forget the coastal areas of Benkoka Peninsula & part of the Crocker Range with its beautiful undulating bills blanket with jungle & glass across the Marudu Bay. On the North Eastern part lays the many islands of which the largest of all is the Bangi Island & the Balangbangan Island that can be seen from the first new 9 holes.
While the second 9 holes is matured, wooded natural & challenging this is located at the center & surrounded by town's roads, residential houses (the government quarters), office blocks & lots. The total length of the second nine is 3075 metres & the 18th fairway is flood lit for the conveniences of the late players.
The first 9 holes course, the fairways & the green are the Bermuda grass with undulating fairways while the second 9 holes are the flat & green fairway & of Kudat local grass.

Highest altitude golf course in South East Asia Perched 5,000ft above sea level, at the foothill of the majestic Mount Kinabalu, in Peninsuluk Plateau, about two hours drive from Kota Kinabalu, is Robert Muir Graves designed Mount Kinabalu Golf Club. This 18 holes layout with spectacular view of Mount Kinabalu, surrounding farmlands of Kundasang & Kota Kinabalu, on the clear day, promises the experience of cool highlands golfing with its unpredictable weather.
Playing 6,319 metres from the back tees, this course must be rated as a course to test your physical & mental fitness & of course your golfing skill. From the 1st hole with Par 5 of 485 metres, one is immediately faced with difficulty, as the tee shot is a blind shot. However with a good tee shot, one can attempt to go for the green although a stream protects the approach to the green.
Starting from the 1st nine, the 10th with Par 4 of 370 metres, you will find a hugeboulder in the middle of the fairway. Either you can attempt to carry over the boulder or you can bail out to aslope on the right as wasteland with natural vegetation classified as hazards awaits shorts that veered to the left. Such natural vegetation hazards can be found throughout the course & to find your ball in such a hazard is a near impossibility. Less accomplished golfers are advised to carry more golf balls in their bags.
The 14th hole with Par 3 of 142 metres must surely be the signature hole of Mount Kinabalu Golf Club, one of the most spectacular Par 3 of golf. Playing across the deepest hazard golfers will come across a ravine with gushing river at the bottom & from an elevated tee - the target - a miniscule green perched on the edge of a cliff. Putting from the top of the green will require precise reading of speed & lines as you will find your ball in the bunkers guarding the green if anything less.

Perhaps no golfing in Sabah is complete without a round or two at this prestigious & exquisite Jack Nicklaus signature golf course. Class .. This is what sets this club apart from the rest of the new generations golf courses in Sabah. A signature course by Jack Niklaus, Borneo Golf & Country Club is well located within the tourist belt of the Papar-Beaufort District, 69km South of Kota Kinabalu.
Niklaus, undoubtedly, the world's greatest golfer & one of the most profilic & sought after designer uses a natural lagoon to dramatise the effect of water carries on most holes one the second nine. Since the course was opened for play in February 1996, Borneo Golf has gained a well-deserved reputation as the best new course in the country. It has set new standards for golfing in Borneo & is certainly growing to become one of the best layouts in this region. With a spectacular seaside setting & ever present breeze, its rolling fairways & 6,546 metres from the back tees, it has all the requirements of a championship course. Its layout is a natural, almost rock rugged look, despite the immaculate all-Bermuda turfing. Borneo Golf utilises vast amount of wild turts of wild grass & even extra large bunkering for aesthetic effect making each hole appear unique with some lying inland & others bordering a natural lagoon. The greens are receptive enough but also treacherously fast.
The 1st hole, Par 4 of 366 metres is relatively easy with its open & wide fairway to start your round of golf at Borneo Golf & Country Club. From there, you will require all golfing skills to tackle the various obstacles that Mr Niklaus has conjured up as the first nine winds its way inland with huge tractsof waste bunkers flanking each hole. With so many outstanding holes, it would be difficult to vote Borneo Golfs signature hole. However, the 13th hole of 373 metres with Par 4 & the 14th hole with Par 3 of 172 metres should be etched in your memory. Hole 13th is split by a natural lagoon & provides golfers alternative fairway routes to the green. The adventurous golfer who wants to take full challenge of the 13th hole will need all their skill & nerve to drive & carry 200 metres of water across the lagoon to leave themselves with a short wedge to the green which is well guarded by bunkers. For the faint-hearted, you can lay up with a fairway wood to the right fairway & face a relatively long iron or fairway wood into the wind across the lagoon to find the well-protected green. Tht 14th & 15th holes are played along the beachfront. The 14th hole requires another long iron or fairway wood across a large tract of wasteland to a green well-protected by bunkers. Those who slice will probably find their golf balls on the beach & depending on the tide; they may still play as it lies from the natural hazard. The Par 4 with 386 metres 15th hole, leads to a prefect view the sunset in the evening before reaching another well-protected green along the South China Sea.
The challenging 18th hole with Par 4 of 424 metres plays from the beach back to the clubhouse. The approach to the finishing hole looks more difficult than it actually is due to the length of the hole. However, an ever present prevailing sea breeze should help. Lay up & short as the green is well-guarded on the right with the deep bunkers, if you think you cannot reach the green in two.
